Hygiene & Health-care
In the area of hygiene, Carpenter APS offers a broad range of foam sponges for cleaning purposes and personal hygiene.
Besides the familiar coloured sponges for personal hygiene, Carpenter APS also manufactures disposable foam wash cloths which are sold on the institutional markets (hospitals, day-care centres and nursing homes) and the consumer market.
Disposable foam wash cloths are primarily used for washing babies, elderly people and the disabled.
On top of our standard range of products for the health sector, we manufacture a unique visco-elastic material called Celsius.
This material is primarily used for mattresses, pillows and seat upholstery. Celsius is sensitive to temperature and therefore reacts to the heat of the body, promoting optimum pressure relief and support.
The properties of the foam help to stimulate the circulation and distribute the weight of the body throughout the entire supporting surface.
Celsius creates greatly improved comfort when lying in bed and results in more relaxing sleep and greater well-being.
Celsius is used in the hospital and nursing home sectors where the material's pressure relieving properties have shown their effectiveness in treating and preventing decubitus ulcers (bedsores) and back ailments.
Thanks to the unique comfort provided by Celsius, the material is becoming more and more common in mattresses for the consumer market, where similar products such as Tempur, T-Foam and SAF are available.
In recent years, Carpenter APS has developed and marketed a number of health-care products for the consumer market. These include pillows, wedge-shaped cushions, lumbar support cushions, massage health mattress for children and adults and a Celius bed for dogs - all manufactured in accordance with the latest technology in the field of health-care products.
Carpenter APS collaborates with the Danish Research and Development Centre for Aid Facilities and Rehabilitation on developing and standardizing antidecubitus products.
