Carpenter is now certified as an official IJF Tatami Supplier

We are proud to announce that Carpenter is now an official Tatami Supplier.

The International Judo Federation sets quality standards for judo mats used in the Olympic Games, World Championships, and other IJF-sanctioned competitions. We are among only a few manufacturers worldwide to have earned a place on the federation’s Official Supplier list, signifying that our mats meet strict criteria for safety, performance, and durability. The certification means not only that our mats meet global competition standards, but that they are trusted by athletes and federations looking for best-in-class equipment.

Tailored looks and performance

Carpenter Tatami is a range of high quality sports mats engineered for durability and a great sporting experience. The core consists of open-cell flexible polyurethane trimmings (derived from post-industrial or post-consumer waste) bonded together with a binder. This core is covered with PVC coated vinyl, which is available in various colors and textures. The mats can be supplied with or without an anti-skid base.

As well as optimizing the sports experience, our judo mats were developed to promote a circular economy and a more sustainable sports sector. They are produced using foam from a closed loop process involving collection of used mattresses and end-of-life judo mats. These are inspected, shredded, and used to make materials for new judo mats – which can also be collected at the end of their useful life.

The International Judo Federation has 200 affiliated National Federations in all five continents. Its mission is to administer the development of judo throughout the world, from organization of top level events to promotion and development. The IJF official supplier certification places our judo mats on the global stage and reaffirms Carpenter’s ongoing contribution to a better future for athletes and the sports industry.
