The world leader in bedding and mattress material

Carpenter is the leading manufacturer of polyurethane foam for the bedding industry. For over 50 years, our materials have brought comfort to the world’s most famous bedding products.

Today, using computer-aided design, state-of-the-art cutting techniques, and industrial robotics, we continuously develop innovative ways to cut and shape polyurethane foam for our customers. Our experienced hands and state-of-the-art cutting equipment can deliver simple or complex multidimensional contour cuts, punched hole designs, and zoned profile cut parts to your precise specifications, therefore adding style and value to your products.

Carpenter has invested in mattress compression equipment that is strategically located to allow our customers to sell quality mattress products that are compressed for convenient shipping and handling. Our Bed in a Box product range contains high-quality roll-pack mattresses, which have been developed for customers to take home today and use tomorrow.

Mattress Products

Our Bed in the Box range offers comfort and support at affordable prices in a variety of depths. The mattresses are manufactured using different densities of polyether foam on the base offering medium to firm support, teamed with a combination of another polyether layer, a luxurious memory foam or  one of our advanced technology open cell foams to create the perfect sleep environment.

Carpenter has the ability to create innovative designs by contour cutting or profiling the foam to suit the customer’s request. We also work closely with our fabric suppliers to provide the latest designs and technical offerings on fabric ticks and covers to create a restful night’s sleep.

Bed in a Box is a product where our mattresses are roll-packed into a single box which fits all the standard EU and UK sizes. The carton can be printed and displayed in a retail environment as a “take home” today mattress. It is rolled for ease of transportation to the home – just take out of the packaging, unroll and allow it to take shape – perfect for when unexpected guests arrive.

A unique mattress manufacturer that produces its own polyurethane foam, Carpenter provides an exhaustive range of mattresses covering all public establishment requirements. With our detailed knowledge of foam types, quality standards, eco-labels, fire safety requirements and antibacterial tests, we can help you develop the perfect institutional mattress. The mattresses provide comfort in boarding schools, University residences, tourist accommodation, the custodial area, nurseries, healthcare facilities and several other institutions. For every public establishment there is a perfectly adapted, resistant and comfortable Carpenter mattress available.

Thanks to our know-how and perfect command of the fabrication process, from the foam production stage right up to delivery, Carpenter has become a point of reference in terms of quality for the supply of mattresses to holiday accommodation professionals.

A bed is more than just a piece of furniture. With our detailed knowledge of foam types, eco-labels, fire safety requirements and antibacterial tests, we can help you develop the perfect mattress.

Through zone divisions– either via cut-outs, perforations or profiling – we can increase the functionality and comfort of the mattress while also creating visually attractive solutions.

We can also help you experiment with new materials or develop a cover with an appealing design.

Capabilities

Extra airflow for a cool, comfortable experience

Engineers at Carpenter Co. have solved the problem of heat buildup in viscoelastic foam by developing Active Air Technology™. Consisting of punching holes in the foam and backing it with a layer of woven fiber, heat and humidity pass quickly through the material.

This technology increases airflow in bedding foams by as much as 100%.

Bed in a Box

Carpenter Co. has invested in mattress compression equipment that is strategically located across Europe to allow our customers to sell quality mattress products that are compressed for convenient shipping and handling. Our Bed in a Box product is an example of that, where a mattress is roll-packed into a single box for ease of transportation.

Our Foams

Richfoam® polyether foams are conventional foams with an open cell structure. Offering great resilience and comfort, these foams are perfect for bedding, comfort upholstery, technical applications and packaging. A variety of grades are available, in a wide range of colors, densitities and firmnesses along with a selection of Richfoam® polyether fire retardant foams.

Richfoam polyether is a standard foam, typically used when products should withstand a constant load – a static load – for example in sofas and beds. Besides being great in static loads, this type of foam could also be ideal for wash wipes.

A large range of our products have been tested on conformity with Oeko-tex® standard 100 and are certified.

Properties:

  • Good for static pressure
  • High performance in humid environments
  • Good tensile strength and elongation properties

This means that High Resilience Foam holds its shape for longer without collapsing.

A large range of our products have been tested on conformity with Oeko-tex® standard 100 and are certified.

Properties:

  • High elasticity
  • Fire retardant
  • Reduced tensile strength and elongation properties
  • Produced in densities from 25 kg/m3 to 65 kg/m3

Applications:

  • Furniture
