Bayport Chemical Blending // Powell Plant
The Powell Plant Chemical Blending team performed above and beyond expectations with their efforts to fill additional orders while helping other facilities service our customers. They started their shifts early and stayed late, ensuring these additional orders were fulfilled to maintain high customer satisfaction and quality. The Bayport team excelled in applying Carpenter’s True North Principles and overcame all adversities without losing focus on accomplishing their mission. This team continually displays an “above and beyond” attitude when it comes to supporting other facilities, which results in an increase of Chemical Systems, Tire Fill and Polyol volumes. Without hesitation, these employees proceeded with a sense of urgency and persevered, exceeding all expectations and delighting all customers.
Matt McCraner, Driver // Elkhart
I was calling on a customer last week, and we had just sent a drop shipment to an apartment building that is working on their flooring. The owner was at the apartment complex to meet our driver, Matt McCraner, for the unload. They had a heavy rain the night before so Matt could not back up very close to the building, meaning they had to carry each of the 120 rolls quite a distance through some pretty sloppy terrain. The owner said that the Matt moved the rolls of cushion to the tail of the trailer, hopped out of the trailer, and joined the installers in schlepping the rolls all the way into the building. He said that Matt even lapped some of the installers and continued jumping back up in the trailer, dragging the rolls to the tail and continued to carry them in the building. I get compliments all the time about ALL of our drivers out of Elkhart, and I am grateful for all of them. However, on this day, Matt McCraner went above and beyond the call of duty.
Johnny Owens, Material Handler // Temple
Johnny Owens began his career at E. R. Carpenter, L.P. Temple Division on January 10, 1983. Currently, he works in the Rebond Department as a Material Handler. For more than 40 years, Johnny has taken pride in his work and lived out the values of Carpenter. Throughout his career, he has proven to be a Hero because of his strong work ethic, commitment to the organization and willingness to do whatever he is asked without complaint. His hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated. It is because of employees like Johnny that the E. R. Carpenter Temple Division continues to be successful, and we are proud to have him as part of the team.
