Two Carpenter Switzerland plants receive ISCC PLUS certification

Carpenter is pleased to announce that two of the company’s plants in Switzerland have received the ISCC PLUS certification – Wolfhausen and Gontenschwil. The certification of these two plants supports the company’s ongoing commitment to its sustainability strategy. Currently, four Carpenter plants are ISCC PLUS certified. Carpenter’s Wetteren plant in Belgium received the certificate in May 2024, following the foaming plant in Langeac, France, which was certified in August 2023.

Andreas Langenhan, Quality Manager – Product Safety & Conformity Representative for Carpenter’s Switzerland plants, expressed, “Receiving the ISCC PLUS certificate makes us all proud and gives us the opportunity to serve the market with products from sustainable production. With this certification, we show that we not only talk about sustainability but also act on it. We firmly believe that our customers will attach greater importance to sustainable products in the future and will therefore select their future suppliers accordingly.”

What is ISCC PLUS?

ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) PLUS is an international certification that applies to diverse industrial applications and to the food, feed and energy markets. In Carpenter’s case, it recognizes a commitment to achieving a circular economy by responsibly handling raw materials and waste and by using non- fossil fuel-based raw materials. The certification means the company can offer customers global transparency with regard to the origins of its mass balanced materials used in its urethane products.

Ongoing commitment

Participation in the ISCC PLUS scheme is voluntary, third-party verified and subject to a yearly audit. The initiative taken by the Wolfhausen and Gontenschwil plants goes hand-in-hand with the company’s overall sustainability goals and has also set a precedent for other Carpenter plants which are currently working towards the certification.
