Polyurethane block foam for all types of uses
Carpenter’s polyurethane block foam is sold all over Europe, and our foams are used in a wide variety of industries and products, including vehicles, mattresses, sofas, packaging, medical products, sport and leisure. Our foams can be tailored to almost any application, and we continuously expand our range of foams to meet our customer’s needs.
From super soft to super hard grades, block foam is manufactured in a wide span of densities that allows precise customization no matter the purpose.
Every foaming process is checked in our in-house laboratory to ensure the highest quality in all our products.
Our Polyurethane Foams
Carpenter began pouring foam in 1956, and today, we produce more flexible polyurethane foam than any other company in the world. With state-of-the-art production facilities throughout the world, we are able to meet the most demanding production schedules and provide our customers with the highest level of customer service.
We produce polyurethane foam in a wide range of densities, hardness and colors, as well as different types of foam to enable our customers to manufacture quality products for their customers. This also includes our Carpenter Naturalis® range, which utilizes natural products to enhance the performance of our foam.
To lower the cost of transportation and reduce the environmental impact, we can offer to compress our blocks and thereby reduce the volume up to 70% during transport. Some grades recover better and faster than others after compression, so your Carpenter sales contact will guide you in making the right choice.
Richfoam® polyether foams are conventional foams with an open cell structure. Offering great resilience and comfort, these foams are perfect for bedding, comfort upholstery, technical applications and packaging. A variety of grades are available, in a wide range of colors, densitities and firmnesses along with a selection of Richfoam® polyether fire retardant foams.
Richfoam polyether is a standard foam, typically used when products should withstand a constant load – a static load – for example in sofas and beds. Besides being great in static loads, this type of foam could also be ideal for wash wipes.
A large range of our products have been tested on conformity with Oeko-tex® standard 100 and are certified.

High Resilience foam, also known as cold foam, has a more comfortable feel than conventional polyether. In most cases, it also has better durability, and therefore is used in the upholstery of quality furniture. High Resilience Foam has good dynamic load characteristics – for example when you sit down and get up from the same position in a sofa over many years. This means that High Resilience Foam holds its shape for longer without collapsing.
A large range of our products have been tested on conformity with Oeko-tex® standard 100 and are certified.
Properties:
- High elasticity
- Fire retardant
- Reduced tensile strength and elongation properties
- Produced in densities from 25 kg/m3 to 65 kg/m3
Applications:
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Toppers
Lastilux® High Resilience
These foams have higher comfort properties than our conventional foams. Both are available in a wide range of grades. Some of these are combustion modified and meet the British Standard Fire Safety Regulations (BS 5852, Part 2, I.S. 5 or “crib 5”).
