The world leader in foam fabrication
Carpenter has precise equipment to convert slabstock into any length, contour, profile or roll that our customers need. We can combine rolls with other materials and assemble cut pieces into complex shapes. We are able to combine different foam grades to produce the best comfort and feeling.
Capabilities
Engineers at Carpenter have solved the problem of heat buildup in viscoelastic foam by developing Active Air™ Technology. Consisting of punching holes in the foam and backing it with a layer of woven fiber, heat and humidity pass quickly through the material.
This technology increases airflow in bedding foams by as much as 100%.
Simple and complicated multi-dimensional converting forms are available with our up-to-date vertical and horizontal cutting machines.
With Carpenter’s innovative convolution capabilities, you can incorporate zoned patterns into both toppers and quilting foams. In addition to the traditional one-in, two-out form of convolution, some of our facilities are equipped to perform single-piece extraction to help provide exactly what you are looking for.
To ensure consistent high quality of our products, we have strict compliance to meet internal and external testing standards. A large range of our products have been tested on conformity with Oeko-tex standard 100 and are certified. For information about specific quality certificates and testing available for the products you need, please use the contact form below to get in touch with your local Carpenter contact.
Our state-of-the-art lamination lines make producing high-quality, durable, laminated products quick and cost-effective. Simple and complicated details in different materials can be glued together to meet the desired comfort level.
Our automated cutting machinery is the latest and greatest in foam fabrication. Using both vertical and horizontal contour cutting technology, Carpenter is able to meet your needs from both design and efficiency aspects.
Carpenter is dedicated to working with its partners to develop new products which will mutually enhance our portfolios. We are able to create innovative and unique designs to suit exacting requirements which can be placed under the customer’s own brand. We can create new mattresses together using the expertise we have gained over a number of years. Our Products
Richfoam® polyether foams are conventional foams with an open cell structure. Offering great resilience and comfort, these foams are perfect for bedding, comfort upholstery, technical applications and packaging. A variety of grades are available, in a wide range of colors, densitities and firmnesses along with a selection of Richfoam® polyether fire retardant foams.
Richfoam polyether is a standard foam, typically used when products should withstand a constant load – a static load – for example in sofas and beds. Besides being great in static loads, this type of foam could also be ideal for wash wipes.
A large range of our products have been tested on conformity with Oeko-tex® standard 100 and are certified.
Properties:
- Good for static pressure
- High performance in humid environments

Applications:
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Toppers
- Wash wipes

High Resilience foam, also known as cold foam, has a more comfortable feel than conventional polyether. In most cases, it also has better durability, and therefore is used in the upholstery of quality furniture. High Resilience Foam has good dynamic load characteristics – for example when you sit down and get up from the same position in a sofa over many years. This means that High Resilience Foam holds its shape for longer without collapsing.
A large range of our products have been tested on conformity with Oeko-tex® standard 100 and are certified.
Properties:
- High elasticity
- Fire retardant
- Reduced tensile strength and elongation properties
- Produced in densities from 25 kg/m3 to 65 kg/m3
Applications:
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Toppers
Lastilux® High Resilience
These foams have higher comfort properties than our conventional foams. Both are available in a wide range of grades. Some of these are combustion modified and meet the British Standard Fire Safety Regulations (BS 5852, Part 2, I.S. 5 or “crib 5”).
