Since 1972, Carpenter has been manufacturing polyether polyols, one of the key components in flexible urethane foam. Our Roger W. Powell plant, located in Bayport, Texas, is one of the world’s leading polyol production facilities.

CARPOL® SPA-357

  • Sucrose / amine-initiated polyether polyol.
  • The high functionality of the initiators yields a resultant polyol with a nominal functionality of 5.5 and a typical hydroxyl number of 350.

CARPOL® PES-295

  • Polyester Polyol is used in rigid polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam systems.
  • Higher insulation and thermal stability lead to improved energy efficiency.
  • High functionality and aromatic content which yields a highly cross-linked foam and allows for lower flame retardant levels.

CARPOL® PES-302

  • Polyester Polyol used in rigid polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam systems.
  • Due to flame-retardant aromatic content, it’s an excellent candidate for use in spray polyurethane foam (SPF) applications.
  • Designed with unique chemistry that facilitates processing in colder climates and PIR board stock formulations.

CARPOL® PES-305

CARPOL® PES-352

CARPOL® GSP-7216

  • Glycerin-initiated polyether polyol formulated to a nominal functionality of 4.2 and a typical hydroxyl value of 31.
  • This ethylene oxide capped polyol is designed to provide a moderate degree of cross-linking and reactivity for high resiliency flexible foam applications.
  • Advantages of using this polyol include increased load bearing, enhanced compression set performance, and the potential for reduced use of graft polyol.

This new product line of NIONIC™ surfactants and polyglycols makes use of our expertise in alkoxylation, providing a range of EO/PO block co-polymers and polyglycols serving a variety of markets where defoaming, wetting, and emulsifying are critical.
